Vsimer
Answers to the most common questions about Vsimer eSIM: compatibility, installation, activation, pricing, refunds, hotspot usage, and customer support.
It is a SIM card built into your phone. Instead of the plastic chip you pop in and out, this one is soldered onto the circuit board. You program it remotely by scanning a QR code. It does the same job as a traditional SIM, just without the physical card.
If your phone was made after 2019 and is a mid-range or flagship model, probably yes. iPhones from the XS onward, Samsung Galaxy from the S20 onward, Google Pixel from the 3 onward. The easiest check: open Settings and look for anything mentioning eSIM or Add Cellular Plan. If it is there, you are good.
After purchase, you get a QR code. Open your phone settings, find the eSIM or cellular section, and scan the code. The whole thing takes about two minutes. You can do it at home before your trip, sitting on your couch.
Yes. If your carrier locked the phone when they sold it to you, you will need to contact them and request an unlock first. Phones bought outright from Apple, Samsung, or similar are usually unlocked already.
When you first connect to a mobile network at your destination. Not when you buy it, not when you install it. This means you can purchase and set up your eSIM days or even weeks before your trip with no wasted time.
Yes. Your phone runs both SIMs at the same time. Your original number handles calls and texts from home. The Vsimer eSIM handles your data abroad. Nothing changes about your existing service.
Yes. Turn on your phone hotspot and share your eSIM data with your laptop, tablet, or travel partner phone. Just keep in mind that hotspot usage draws from the same data pool as everything else.
You can top up from your Vsimer account. Pick a new package for the same destination, and it applies to your existing eSIM. No new QR code, no reinstallation needed.
It depends on where you are in the process. If the eSIM has not been installed on any device, you get a full refund, no questions asked. If it has been installed but you never connected to a network and zero data was used, we can still process a refund after verifying usage. Once data has been consumed, the product is considered delivered and refunds are not available. All refund requests must be made within 30 days of purchase. If your eSIM is not working due to a technical fault on our side, we will fix it, replace it, or refund you.
Speed and convenience, mostly. No queue, no passport copy, no language barrier, no wondering which plan the shop assistant just signed you up for. You also keep your home number active, which does not happen when you swap to a local physical SIM.
Most are, yes. They are designed for internet access: maps, messaging apps, video calls through WhatsApp or FaceTime, social media, browsing. Some plans include voice calling, but for most travelers, data-only is exactly what they need.
More secure than a physical SIM, actually. The eSIM cannot be physically removed from your phone. Profiles are cryptographically signed before installation. And using cellular data is inherently safer than connecting to random public Wi-Fi networks.
The eSIM profile stays on your phone even after the data runs out or expires. Next time you visit the same country, just buy a new data package and it loads onto your existing profile. No need to start from scratch.
Most modern phones store multiple profiles. iPhones can hold up to eight. You can only have one or two active at a time, but the rest sit there dormant, ready to switch on when you need them. Frequent travelers build a little library.
